BlackBerry Storm smartphone for business – Storm in a glass?
The BlackBerry Storm is the first smartphone released by RIM, known as a reaction to the release of the i-phone from Apple.
Although it has some great features not quite fit the bill and is not as impressive as the new BlackBerry Curve 8520 and probably not as handig for business users of mobile telephony, never less a very nice phone.
There is no argument that the BlackBerry Storm is a sexy, beautiful phone. This is a similar size to the i-phone – a bit shorter but slightly wider and thicker. The face of the phone has a 3 beautiful. 2 inch touch screen and below this are four buttons, including a send button, an End key, a BlackBerry menu button and a back button – the buttons are made of hard rubber and sits well with the screen and feel good hand, the is also a comfortable size and not too much to have in your pocket.
The screen is of good quality, perfect snsitive touch screen that lights up blue when you touch it. When the screen is clicked, makes a slight click, and that makes him feel like typing on a real computer keyboard.
The BlackBerry Storm, like most PDA’s also an accelerometer, which, on the phone to rotate, changing the orientation of the phone. However, we found that some keys are a lttle closer therefore not ideal for heavy users of mobile phone business.
Another problem I had with the BlackBerry Storm is that the two menu systems – both icons and folders. It’s like websites that can not decide where their navigation menus, links or just above so go for both.
While this may be useful because it relates to the needs of users who have a preference for any type of navigation, he can be a bit confusing, especially since some of the duplicate records have slightly different names.
Regarding the calls, the BlackBerry Storm quite well and have a clear sound. One problem was that the volume does not seem to me strong enough. In addition to the touchscreen that was very sensitive, so if the phone is held near the head speaking, it is too easy to accidentally press the buttons without meaning, which is obviously a slip for Business mobile users who have many large Customer calls on the road.
Surfing was simple and good that you can zoom in and out of web pages using the buttons at the bottom, but the phone lacks support for WiFi networks, are highly dependent on network G £ for Web Access quality.
All Blackberry mobile phones are an excellent introduction for both e-mail and text. The storm, up to 10 individual email accounts to people who need to use their mobile phone to use for both business and leisure travelers.
One thing that this phone is no longer the Apple I-phone is that you can write to e-mail when holding the phone horizontally, you can see longer sentences, which was great when people mailing back to the office detailed instructions.
When you tap the phone held in the vertical format the phone uses SureType where two letters on one button that takes some practice and can cause problems with the use of the touchscreen to share. Also I do not know if I missed something very simple here, but if a phone number field values searched alphabetically and had to be manually activated numbers for each digit entered.
The alternative is to add a contact for all issues that you want to call and draw them into the area – not great if you just want a pizza to call your hotel room during a traveler.
When writing applications in Microsoft Office documents that allow you to see and not to create documents that often means that if you want to edit a document, while at a meeting that you make to a note and later to veranderen .
You can access the BlackBerry App World is a boutique that allows you to browse, download movie soundtrack and download the software on your phone – sometimes for free.
The 3. 2-megapixel camera is pretty good, the pictures came sharp and clear, even if not loved incredile evening when we were in a dimly lit room. It comes with a flash and autofocus. It also captures video. This time i was on camera phones. It is not bad as a music player and can get a good amount of music, the headphones are OK, but the volume is not loud enough if you’re in the busy commuter stations.
Overall, the BlackBerry Storm smartphone is a phone and a relatively good performance only BlackBerry on their first chance of a real competitor to the i-phone. However, after using the BlackBerry Curve 8520 just seemed lower and there is no way I would choose that over 8520, in particular for use in the workplace – perhaps more appropriate for non-professional users phone.
